Waffles anyone?

Today is my next to last day at work. This morning I woke up and thought "Friday should have been my last day." If you ever have to leave a job, make your last day the day before a three day weekend...not two days after.

The group feted me with waffles at a local coffee house this morning. That's the tradition - when someone leaves or comes, we celebrate with waffles. There were lots of nice words and cool photo with a signed matte. Very sweet of them.

Right now I'm in between tired and psyched...my body is winding down for a brief respite while my mind is getting excited about going to NOLA. I've done the French Quarter thing before, so this time I'm going to go up to the Tulane area and check that out. I'm also going to eat at Emeril's restaurant. Other than that, not much planned but to chill and have fun at the wedding.

Hot hot hot

It's rather warm today and most of my energy has been sapped from me. Here's the lazy hazy days of summer blog entry....

Yet another step in embracing my fab - I took a risk and walked into an expensive shoe store. Not only did these bad boys look/feel quite good on my feet, they were ON SALE. Plus, they are the perfect touch of color for the black/white geometric print dress that I found for the wedding.

No worries, I've already scheduled the spa pedicure.

Random thoughts and musings

1. I have to find a dress for a wedding next weekend. I've been looking for two months...well, not actively. Found the perfect dress - it looked good on me, was on the clearance rack for $40 (originally $200) BUT, it wasn't in my budget and you know that a fab chick has to remember her budget. When I did work it into my budget, it wasn't there. Since then it's been the hunt for the perfect dress. I'm sure that I've run across dresses that would work wonderfully - but up against the benchmark of the perfect dress...not so much.

2. Last night I had the most random dreams about planning my life after work. Instead of the sweet peaceful 9 hour sleep that I had planned on there was tossing, turning, praying, and about 4 hours of sweet peaceful sleep.

3. However, I did get up in time to workout. Just didn't workout. Interestingly enough, a fat ass remains a fat ass if you don't move it - no matter how much All Bran you eat.

4. It's time to go to the mall. The heat is upon me and rocking short sleeves and jeans is not cutting it anymore.

5. It cost me $30 to fill up my gas tank (Exactly 8.697 gallons). Dude, I drive a compact car. More power to you people with big tanks. Of course, the bright side of this is that I am blessed enough to afford to fill up my gas tank (trust me, I've been in situations where I wouldn't have been able to), so it's not all complainin'

Tagged

I've been tagged by Monica to list a few "things" ...

1) Thing that makes me happy
The nieces most fab make me happy. They are fun, intelligent, sweet, love me unconditionally and are HIGHLY entertaining.

2) Funny thing that happened yesterday
I guess this is funny...I was bopping down the halls dancing and flailing my arms like a spastic 2 year old and unexpectedly encountered my Marketing Director (my manager's manager). It was all good. He thought I was hilarious.

3) Thing I love to eat
Fresh mango. It's an almost orgasmic experience. I moan and groan. Juice dribbles everywhere. If there is such a thing as food porn - I am its Jemma Jameson when I'm eating a mango.

4) Things that bug me
It irks me to no end when people who are going to turn left at a light do not advance to the middle of the intersection. What the heck are you waiting for? Move your ass out to the middle so you can be ready to turn when the opportunity presents itself.

5) A thing I have on right now
Thong Sandals . I am such an old school dresser when it comes to work. Jeans are about as far as I would push the envelope. Open toed shoes - fuggedaboudit! But today, I threw caution to the wind and wore jeans, a polo and thong sandals. However, I did have to wear my pearl set (earrings and necklace) to compensate.

6) Thing I did once that was technically dumb but turned out okay
Gerardo.

7) Thing I plan to do today
Go to bed early so I can hit the gym at 5:30 tomorrow.
